Curriculum

Gilbert Elementary School believes in relationships. We work diligently to establish those with our students and our parents. We believe that as a team we must communicate and work together if students are to be successful in school and in life. We care about educating the whole child. We want your child to be successful academically but also behaviorally, socially, and emotionally. We want him or her to be kind, smart, brave, and prepared for the next level of their education and for life.

Outdoor Learning is another aspect of life here at Gilbert. The world is literally our classroom. We often take learning outside to the hiking trails or the outdoor classroom. There’s a low ropes course for those who are feeling more adventurous. There are raised bed gardens and a greenhouse for those with green thumbs. Our hiking trails are even equipped with some trail cams that are used by our fourth graders to track the animal populations of our woods.

Gilbert Elementary is a STEM certified school. Under the leadership of principal, Brandon Mosgrove, students at Gilbert Elementary are place- and project-based STEM learners and researchers. Students are involved in STEM activities throughout the year.
